Apps:How does Firsty Free work?
  • Firsty is a mobile app that provides seamless global connectivity for travelers. Firsty offers two products: Firsty Free and Firsty Fast. With Firsty Free, enjoy a basic connection to essential apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, email, and Uber for free. (Yeah, really!) It's the world's go-to solution for staying in touch without spending a dime.
  • With Firsty Free you stay connected for up to 60 minutes with unlimited data through a basic connection for the essentials. After 60 minutes, watch a 30-second advertisement to reconnect with unlimited data for the next interval.
  • Ready for more? Upgrade to Firsty Fast for lightning-speed data, perfect for streaming, video calls, social media, and more.
In which countries is Firsty available now?
  • Firsty's connectivity services are currently available in Europe, the USA, Albania, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South-Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. We are actively working to expand our coverage. Stay tuned for updates on our expanding network!
What is a Firsty eSIM?
  • An eSIM, or embedded SIM, is a digital SIM card integrated directly into your device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Unlike traditional physical SIM cards, eSIMs are built into devices during manufacturing and cannot be physically removed or replaced by users. Firsty utilizes this eSIM technology to ensure continuous connectivity by remotely connecting you to local providers in the countries you visit, eliminating the need for manual (e)SIM card swaps.

Using it now for a couple weeks and it works. You get a notification when it's time to watch an ad to get 1hour of data.
Works with 5ber when you add the esim code and create an QR code out of it. This QR code then can be scanned with the Firsty app.

My first thought was, What is a esim? Now, i am showing my age?
This concept appears interesting.

You are giving access to rootfolders of your phone (esim) I might be wrong.
A SIM does not have root access to the device.

So watch 1 ad for 60min/100mb? Is there any limit to how many times? Expiration? If none, this can be good if you are stuck somewhere and ran out of data and you need data for something quick, assuming it's coverage is reliable.

The 100MB is a one time thing. You get 2G speeds for an hour and then watch like a 10 second add to retop your 60 minute timer. Good for messaging, WhatsApp, voip calls.. you could use your browser but it will be almost unusable with those speeds.

Certainly you are outdated, iPhone 15 doesn't even have a SIM card slot, takes only eSIM

Any idea what networks they use in the US?

I'm hoping to get some pre-paid eSims for each of the major networks so if I'm in an area without service on my primary, I can theoretically connect to another cell network.

I've seen someone tinkle on the beach. I understand fish and crabs do it, but I don't feel it extends to humans. Maybe I'm a species-bigot?

Great question, no idea but great way to have emergency connectivity. Might have to ask the NoContract Reddit.
