In addition to the efficiency of a heat pump, you can use the WiFi to further savings by adjusting or turning off the water heater when you don't need hot water (vacation, work, etc.).
Regarding federal taxes, the 30% credit applies to both the water heater as well as the installation cost.

Also, the outlet and inlet of these is located in a different area than most conventional hot water heaters which can lead to quite a bit of extra plumbing. This may be especially important to consider if you are installing it in a tight spot.
Also, you need to make sure you have somewhere to drain the condensate.
