Costco doesn't carry the X85 Series, the 85" at Costco is the X80 Series. This X85 Series, to name a few differences... gets brighter (500-550 nits vs. 350-400 nits), has a wider color gamut w/ more color volume, and supports VRR.
Will say, I've got the 85" x80... and the last thing you need is more brightness. I've got mine set at 30 and it's great in a really well lit room (think wall of windows during the day) and almost too bright with the lights off at night.

Picked up the floor model at a local Best Buy yesterday. It was discounted an additional $222. Total was $778 plus tax. In the store I was worried 75" wouldn't be big enough… it the house it overwhelms the bedroom! So far I'm pretty happy.

The 85" X80CK at Costco supports VRR. I have it. Looks amazing with the PS5. It has two HDMI 2.1 ports for VRR.

And OLED is nice, but it has its drawbacks too. My OLED has burn in after a couple years from Youtube and video game HUDs. It's also not the best in a brightly lit room like a living room with a lot of natural lighting.

Hmmm... Good to know. On the Sony website and the spec sheet attached on Costco's website it shows no VRR support but does show ALLM (HDMI 3/4).

However, Sony's website does show VRR support on the X85 series and up.

Is Sony's X85K QLED as good as LG OLED C3?

Save your money and get the Hisense U8N (2024 model). I purchased the U8N model and am VERY happy with it Cool I saved $1,000 by going for the Hisense 75" model over the Sony X93L 75" model. I quote from the Rtings.com review published only hours ago on the U8N model, "If you're looking for a fully-featured TV but don't want to spend the money for high-end offerings from Samsung, Sony, or LG, it's hard to beat."
No. Have both and no, they're in no way comparable.

From Costco's site:

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) Yes (for HDMI™3/4)

https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...900a1eba23

I believe the 85 inch is the only one with VRR, so many reviews and spec sheets are wrong if they are for other sizes.
