Such memories, my dad, my little brother and me laughing hysterically, my mom coming into the living room wondering what was going on.... All of 60 years ago.

They need to start putting AI to work upscaling these old SD shows so they don't look like mush.
AI isn't needed to make these look better. They're theatrical shorts, as in there should be original film reels somewhere that could be scanned in HD or even 4k. There's a good chance they already were scanned in HD but only released in SD since this collection is from the DVD era.
These have been on my wishlist since I missed them once at $35. But by this last time they hit $25 I had the above realization and have decided I'll wait till they're HD. Sometimes SD looks fine if it's not too low bitrate and I'm fine with it for old tv shows but these deserve an HD release by now.

This is a lot of content for $20 though.
The problem is these companies can't be bothered to actually go back to the original physical films and rescan them. It shouldn't be that expensive, relatively, but based upon the sheer volume of shows that haven't been updated, it apparently is deemed "not worth it" by the majority of the companies. The Next Generation got an actual remaster, but the effort vs payoff was deemed not worth it by Paramount, so no further Star Trek series received the remaster treatment.
Physical film would scan beautifully at 4K, if these companies would bother.
As far as AI upscaling, the results can be hit and miss. When it is just applied en masse, some of them look good and some look meh. Efforts beyond that require more work and can have better results.
One of the most well-known 4K ai upscaled TV shows is Deep Space 9. After the supposed "failure" of TNG, fans have tried their best to up the quality and you can see that in the upscaling efforts.
One issue that went against the TNG remasters is that they came out at a time when streaming was really taking off and people may have felt it was not worth owning physically when they could stream it online.

This wouldn't be nearly as complex and expensive as TNG was since these exist in finished form on film. TNG was shot on film but then the film was scanned in standard def and edited on tape where all the special effects were added in. So they had to rebuild all the episodes from unassembled film and recreate the effects. Prohibitively expensive for sure.
Scanning these in HD would be far less complicated than that was. We can all agree it would cost SOME money to do though and I doubt the potential sales are enough to offset the costs.
This is the Three Stooges, of COURSE you're only interested in physical media.
When you fight about who's gonna use it, you can't brain your brother over the head with a digital license. Or trip over it. Or paint over it.
It wasn't a show. It was a series of shorts that played in theaters, with a lot of them being before TV at home was a thing. Since then people have watched them at home.
Pretty incredible for live action with the same cast! For reference The Simpsons is airing the end to Season 35 - but animation is easier than live action - I hope the art, satire, and humor of The Simpsons never ends - they've found their footing again in the last decade after some weakness in mid 2000s

Another stunning insight from the No Idea What They're Talking About dept.
