For people who already have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and are looking to extend their subscription, this deal works out to about $4/month. But it requires using an India VPN.

Details:
- Buy Xbox Game Pass Core 6 Months India. It's currently $11.10 after fees from Eneba (scroll down on page for cheapest prices). You do not need to use VPN for this step.
- Then turn on your India VPN. One free and easy option is using Urban VPN.
- With your VPN on, get the code that was emailed to you, and enter it at redeem.microsoft.com.
- Microsoft will tell you that it's converting the 6 months of Core to 81 days of Ultimate. That's a pretty terrible conversion, but given the prices, this works out to 14 cents per day or ~$4 per month, which is a great deal for existing Ultimate members. If you don't currently have Ultimate, there are better deals with better conversion rates.
- Can buy multiple codes, which each redeem for 81 days of Ultimate. Microsoft will let you stack these until it reaches 3 years.

Has anyone gotten around this issue?

You currently have a subscription from a different region. If it still doesn't work, please contact customer support.

Don't give up! Here's what I did to get it to work (8 separate times, lol). Interestingly, the code never redeemed successfully unless my region was set to United States. Here's some troubleshooting steps.

EDIT: step 0. Make sure India VPN on when accessing Eneba Code.

1. Close any browser windows logged into any Microsoft services
2. Connect to VPN with India server location (I was using paid Proton VPN Plus)
3. Open up a private browser window (I used incognito in Chrome)
4. Go to redeem.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account
5. Navigate to Your info (left sidebar) -> Country or region -> ensure it's set to United States.
6. Closer your browser session.
7. Open a new private browser session. Go back to redeem.microsoft.com and enter your code
8. If you get a "you currently have a subscription from a different region" or "this was purchased in a different region" error, close browser window and restart from Step 3.
9. If you still haven't had success after 3 tries, set your region to India (Step 5), enter the code (you may get a PUP-ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch error). Just ignore it, close browser window, and do steps 3-7 with country as United States at least twice.

I know that's confusing, and honestly there was no rhyme or reason to when it worked. It seemed to be some combination of toggling country back and forth between India and back to United States, closing and reopening private browsing sessions, and luck. Every single redemption only worked in the end when my country was United States, and the last two worked on the first try.

In total I got 659 days off 8 redemptions (conversions were always 82 days, sometimes 83). I used the cheapest seller (C2CKEY) which was $10.56 + $1.19 service fee = $11.75 per code.

$94 / 659 days * (365/12) days/month = $4.34 per month Game Pass Ultimate. Excellent deal and worth the hassle Smilie

Just extended into May 2027 after 3 purchases. Works exactly as described in the OP. Thanks for the tip, I love being able to use this. The paranoid person in me thinks its possible Microsoft might flag my account based on redemption in India through VPN but find that highly unlikely to happen, as I am just one account in a sea of accounts. For newbies, I've used Eneba several times before for this style of deal, with zero problems. Just don't sit on the keys

I didn't think about this but can I get two of these and get core for $22 for the year? My daughter just plays minecraft and fortnite… so core is all she needs
Just in case you didn't know, you no longer need Core to play Fortnite- it's completely free (other than Fortnite specific purchases.)

Minecraft I believe you still do need Core to play online, but if she's anything like my daughter, she likely is playing Fortnite a lot more these days.

Per the OP, if you don't have a currently active Ultimate sub you might get a better conversion rate.

So I bought 3 years worth of Core, which was 6x 6 months at around $12 each with fees. When I converted those 36 months instead of cutting them in half, I got 25 months instead since my Ultimate sub was inactive at the time. Better conversion rate, a little under $3/month.

I've since topped the remaining 11 months up to 3 years total at the same 81-day conversion rate most people with active Ultimate subs get, at around $4/month. Still a great deal regardless of the conversion.
So once you added the 36 months of core, what did you do to convert to Ultimate? Did you just pay for a month of ultimate at full price, or did you buy a discounted ultimate code?

So I've got NordVPN, and long story short due to some changes india made in 2022, nord shut down it's servers there (so they can't be forced to give over their logs to india's authorities). They have a virtual server that uses (provides) IPs that belong to India, but is physical server is in singapore. Anyway wondering if this worked with Nord's implementation, since it's one of the biggest VPN's I thought other SD'rs may have tried it. Thanks.
Yes worked for me

Thanks. Worked for me. Bought 6 codes for $66 and added around a year and a half to my game pass ultimate. FYI I used the ROYALE promo code on my first order of 3 codes and it saved me near $2 off my first order. It didn't work on my 2nd order since it says you can only use it on 3 purchases per day.

I was able to redeem them fine with my VPN. I already pay for for windscribe so I just used that and it worked fine.

Worked great. Extended my GAME PASS Ultimate by an additional 3 months so my expiration is now May 2027. I bought one card and then after I received the code. I installed the chrome extension for URBAN VPN. After it installed in the browser. I turned on India in the vpn settings...I went to redeem.microsoft.com and then entered the code and boom...gave me an additional 3 months of Game PAss Ultimate. Thanks!!!

Bro! If you let your current ultimate plan expire instead of extending, you get 100% conversion to ultimate.
1. Let current plan expire
2. Once expired, do these India core plans up to 3 years
3. then upgrade to ultimate with a 1 month code and turn on auto-renew
What happens:
You'll see a message saying it will convert your 3 years to ultimate.

Folks always extend with the low conversion rate as core for extending ultimate is low trade in, but core upgrade to ultimate is 100%

For everyone that is doing it this way, it's incorrect lol. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, is let your current ultimate plan expire.
Then you do the India plan and it will give you the FULL 6 months.
Do this for stacking up to 3 years.

THEN you do ultimate 1 month, and it will convert your 3 years of core to 3 years of ultimate.

TLDR, the conversion rate of using non ultimate to extend ultimate is horridly low, but you get 100% conversion rate to ultimate when on core first.

I do this every re-up and spend less than $50 for 3 years of ultimate.
Ultimate 1 month in US account? without VPN right

I followed the steps but receive the following error:

"This code can't be redeemed. It was purchased in a different region from your account"

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Your vpn is not set to India. Also best to use a chrome incognito window when doing this

This is a good idea PROVIDED Microsoft doesn't change their conversion terms by the time your current Ultimate plan expires.
If you don't want to take that risk, topping your account off at 3 years with a deal like this is a good plan too.
