Deal Details
For people who already have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and are looking to extend their subscription, this deal works out to about $4/month. But it requires using an India VPN.

Details:
- Buy Xbox Game Pass Core 6 Months India. It's currently $11.10 after fees from Eneba (scroll down on page for cheapest prices). You do not need to use VPN for this step.
- Then turn on your India VPN. One free and easy option is using Urban VPN.
- With your VPN on, get the code that was emailed to you, and enter it at redeem.microsoft.com.
- Microsoft will tell you that it's converting the 6 months of Core to 81 days of Ultimate. That's a pretty terrible conversion, but given the prices, this works out to 14 cents per day or ~$4 per month, which is a great deal for existing Ultimate members. If you don't currently have Ultimate, there are better deals with better conversion rates.
- Can buy multiple codes, which each redeem for 81 days of Ultimate. Microsoft will let you stack these until it reaches 3 years.

Edge didn't work for me with the VPN and redeem.microsoft.com but Firefox worked great.

Tried Safari and the link loaded but it won't let me add it to the cart. Turned on VPN to India and it passed the region restriction but still won't let me purchase. Firefox wasn't working for me for whatever reason.

Tried buying and redeeming one first. It worked fine, but Eneba charged me tax. Went back to get my sub up to 3 years and realized if you buy it when connected to the VPN that there's no tax. Back up to 3 years out for a little over $100 bucks! Hopefully when they roll out the new changes to GPU they won't screw us over.

I have tried TorGuard and Urban VPN a continue to get this error. I even paid for a Torguard subscription so that I could specifically select Bangalore and still get this error. Can I just change my region to India to redeem and then change it back?

Try changing your location on microsoft account. Try USA and india. Did you use vpn before for your account? your location could be set to a different country. Just try a bunch of other countries while making sure that your vpn ip is india.

You are confused. I would reread the thread and the OP. You are buying core to convert it to Ultimate. This is all clearly explained.
Thanks, It was helpful..

When my "Xbox Ultimate" was in expired state I bought and redeemed this which got a activated as "Core".

Later your comment I realized that I should have the "Ultimate" subscription in active state, so I just tried the upgrade option in the subscription page from "Core" to "Ultimate" which requires to pay/redeem with 1 month ultimate code.. I redeemed with 1 month ultimate code which finally converted to 5 month of Xbox ultimate

I have an existing sub. Wouldn't it be better to let it expire and then resub again? Assuming the non-active prices are better.

Any deals by letting the GPU run out and then doing the conversion deal again?

This is the exact deal I'm doing after my GPU expired. People mention there being better ones without an active subscription, but I have yet to see it. With this deal, you buy 36 months of core (6x6 months) and one month of GPU. With the conversion, that gives you 25 months of GPU for a little more than $80 total. You can then always top it off with more Core converted to GPU at a worse conversion rate, but still pretty solid.

Just extended into May 2027 after 3 purchases. Works exactly as described in the OP. Thanks for the tip, I love being able to use this. The paranoid person in me thinks its possible Microsoft might flag my account based on redemption in India through VPN but find that highly unlikely to happen, as I am just one account in a sea of accounts. For newbies, I've used Eneba several times before for this style of deal, with zero problems. Just don't sit on the keys
I bought one too many and hit the, "you cant use this key yet because you hit the max extension time" message. Can't refund since I saw the key, was gonna wait 80 days and try and use the last one but do you think I'm utterly screwed here by waiting?
