Picked one up to try. Cheap enough. Wouldn't bother at $300. That's crazy

I picked up one of these as well as $300 was too steep for me to try it out, but $60 is not a big deal. This will be helpful to notify me of any leaks and provides some peace of mind.

Their support folks have some crazy attitude. They do seem more knowledgeable than your average customer support but wow I have never seen such rude and condescending service

Does it require a subscription or something like that? I currently have a Flume device to monitor

Most likely your water meter is already emitting signal about your (or neighbors) water usage even the leaks. You just need to catch that signal using any cheapest rtl-sdr dongle. That's what i do and been happy since then. Must have cost me about $25 or so.

I am suspect of its accuracy given that it gets installed at a single sink instead of on the incoming water line of the home as to how well it can monitor consumption throughout the entire house.

Anybody have any experience with this bad boy?

Looks like the device is fairly locked down but I see theirs a Home Assistant thread about it. Total speculation: My belief is it likely infers water consumption based on subtle pressure drops during water consumption if you're separated by a pressure reducing device (common). Basically as flow goes up you can expect a very small increasing pressure drop in the system. Pressure could be measured anywhere in the house. Probably impossible to measure very low flow. But you could measure leaks if you closed the water main valve and then monitored pressure. The RTL-SDR will give you far higher accuracy and far better small leak detection if you have a compatible meter but the update rate is much longer.

Might be eligible for a rebate from your start utility too.
I have flume and really like it. Water company reimbursed me for half the cost.

i THINK that it just has to be connected to a single sink, but it monitors all your water lines...
