Just got the FP-30X deal and really happy with it so far. If this was available at the time I probably would have gone with this model given the price difference.

This is the least expensive way to get the acclaimed PHA-4 key bed if you need basic sounds then you can use it as a high quality midi controller for anything else.

I'd like to buy the Costco bundle. It's actually $150 + 90 (shipping) extra as they don't have it anywhere in their warehouse. It's a slight upgrade over the fp-10 (128 vs 96 polyphony), but I believe the Roland stand & bench that come with it worth the extra money, not to mention the nice Costco's return policy.

Semi-weighted keys vs Weighted Keys, hammer action, graded hammer action, progressive hammer action, and whatever terms used to describe the piano keys on a digital piano.

Read up on those terms. Run a search for something like "weighted keys vs semi weighted Reddit" and you'll get sone better perspective on what to get. I don't play piano myself, but have felt the differences between a semi-weighted and the Costco's FP2 weighted Roland, I would pass on pianos with semi-weighted keys. I actually picked up a free semi-weighted piano through craigslist years ago, still have it.

If you're going to invest time learning, a digital piano with weighted keys would be best if you ever come across a real piano. Muscle memory through practice on a weighted digital piano would better transfer over to a real piano. Even if you don't plan to ever play a real piano, weighted keys would be a better buy. Just feels better.

If you have a local store selling digital pianos, I would test out there digital pianos. It'll give you a much better perspective than what you can read online.

Does your FP-30X click when you press the keys? Wondering if it's just mine or if they all tend to do that.

They make an audible noise, but I wouldn't really describe it as a click. More like the key bottoming out and maybe rubbing slightly on the way down.

Thanks! I will check mine closer...I mostly use headphones, so hardly notice it
