Good deal - good luck - China has gotten aggressive with Westerners lately. I stopped going there since Covid days.
Read again, this deal is not for the CCP China

This is a solid deal. Definitely worth exploring Taiwan, the Republic of China (not PRC). I don't think people should be concerned too much on the threat from CCP, as they are pretty much paper tiger.

These are bot comments right? Why have two different people ran in to talk about indian airlines completely unprompted? This site is extremely compromised.

FYI, China Airlines is from Taiwan, not China. Two different countries. Good deal!

Not sure why you're getting downvoted… but the downvotes are probably the same people that thought Russia would never invade Ukraine again as the Russians surrounded the country with more than 100k troops and weaponry prior to finally moving in.

Yes, tensions between China and Taiwan have been skyrocketing. China has expressed that they will be taking Taiwan - but nobody knows when. My bet is before Biden is out of office/when the next U.S. election results become clear.
I'll happily take that bet. What do you want to wager?

FYI, Taiwan is not a country. ROC, Republic of China is. That's why it's called China Airline. ROC is recognized by 12 other nations and does not have a seat in the U.N.

So, yes- one traveling to Taiwan in the near future should be aware of this, as your chances of being unable to fly out of Taiwan once said conflict begins will be very difficult and dangerous.
I can guarantee you that nothing will happen this year or the next. The likelihood of China actually making a move to "take back" Taiwan is slim.

I would definitely recommend anyone who is interested in going. I love it there and will probably relocate there permanently once I retire. Great place, great food, extremely convenient, and amazing people.

I won't go until details cause no one comes here to read a novel of a comment, but you get the idea. There are lots to like.

Isn't Taiwan surrounded by Chinese warships right now? Like more escalated than normal?

My understanding is it's still one of the safest places in the world. But just should be aware of rising tensions going on

The giant China is always there in.the back of our minds. Thanks but no thanks. I'll choose another peaceful country to go to.
I'm assuming you weren't ever actually planning to go anyways. Where are you going instead? Around the same dates as this deal?

I don't think I've ever traveled anywhere without somebody saying why it's not the right time. One key I recommend is turning off the TV. They stayed where they were, and I went all around the world. I'm very thankful.
