It's probably the safest place you can go in the world in general. Crazy amount of affordable public transportation that is perfectly clean and safe, and you can reach most places in the island in a few hours.
In the summer, I would head to Hualien by train and explore the area/relax and don't leave until you have to! If it's winter, I'd go to Kaohsiung and down to the southern tip.
I lived in Taiwan for 6 years. Amazing place and even better people.
I would definitely recommend anyone who is interested in going. I love it there and will probably relocate there permanently once I retire. Great place, great food, extremely convenient, and amazing people.
I won't go until details cause no one comes here to read a novel of a comment, but you get the idea. There are lots to like.

Taipei alone i would say 5 days to see basically everything. Now if you want to venture out to the rest of taiwan at least two weeks. Im thinking about using this deal to fly to other se countries since there are no direct flights to asia other than japan korea taipei and manila.

My understanding is it's still one of the safest places in the world. But just should be aware of rising tensions going on
If a bunch of Americans visit Taiwan, maybe they won't do anything? 😅
