Please help - Power Tool Deal Needed

VAN WAS STOLEN WITH BIRTHDAY AND FATHER'S DAY GIFTS. - THE TOOLS ARE GONE
Will be used for: simple DIY and home maintenance/repairs.
Must have: Drill/ Driver(keyless chuck) & battery + charger.
* i'm looking for the best possible deal under $300 with a decent performance and durability. Since I'm starting from scratch, the particular brand does not matter and I do have a small amount of wiggle room in the budget if it is an awesome deal!
Please post your comments, ideas suggestions along with any other helpful advice. I appreciate this community so much and I have learned an incredible amount from reading the threads.
For reference - they took off with the van and the tools were in the back . I had found a great deal for Ryobi brushless tools and purchased the six and four amp batteries special -I had waited for the best possible deal and saved my money and they were stolen - still in the box!!

Brushless tools are nice and if you can get them cheap, they're great, but also not a must if you're looking for a deal. Ryobi has a lot of brushless tools, but while they're labeled with "HP", not all of them even used the HP Batteries. And even those that do use the HP batteries, all of them are backwards compatible with the older batteries. I say this since the intended use is simple DIY and home Mantience/repairs.
I say this because the best deals you can usually get are:
1.) Ryobi days at Home Depot. Specifically getting a deal that has batteries and a free tool (or visa versa), and returning one of the items to get the other at a severely discounted price (These are referred to as the "hack" deals).
2.) Direct Tools Outlet will have good prices on stuff that isn't included in Ryobi Days deals, depending on the sale.
So what tools are you actually looking to get this person for father's day, apart from Drill/Driver?
I'd also ask what you were using a 6AH battery for? That sucker is heavy. It can give a decent current boost for stuff like grinders or circular saws I hear, or for huge power hogs like blowers the weight trade off is decent.
Edit: Like that first 6 tool kit for $200 widgit linked above is a decent starter kit.

Drop the kit in cart and you can see how mujch the tool would be if you returned the batteries. Don't do this too much since Home Depot gets kinda mad at people if they do the hack too often (YMMV).
Edit2: If you later look for tool deals on Direct Tools Outlet, a user here developed a tool called https://darn.tools/ that's great for checking price history, so you can sanity check whether something at least is a decent deal compared to historical listings on DTO.
