I have seen some that built like a little curved roof to put over it, but I still think driving rain could make its way in.
I actually put the camera in rice and it seems to work ok now, so kept it as a backup (actually was surprised they didn't backlist it). But the power cord had water inside the connector and a bit of corrosion so tossed that.
The SD card slot is also a potential point of entry even though it has rubber covers, but I just covered that (and the power button) with white electrical tape, nothing seemed to get in there.
I guess if it was totally up under an eave it might be fine. Mine was about a foot below it due to a gutter being in the way if it was mounted all the way up.
Generally the consensus is none of their cameras maintain the IP65 rating if upside down outside, but for the non-pan cameras, I would guess covering the sd card slot and power button with electrical tape would probably work for those (as well as a drip loop on the power cord which should be done regardless, all the mounts have a provision to do that easily).
My one main wish is that they would allow less compression for video on the SD card, right now it is the same compression (over 99%) as the video uploaded to their servers. But I think that is probably not possible, the video is likely compressed prior to any recording/upload. I'd happily sacrifice amount of time video is kept for better clarity on moving objects. But as it is, it is still very good.
My driveway one does not have quite enough ambient light, so the IR LEDs do come on. The problem with those is they attract bugs in the summer and also reflect off rain so trigger a lot of motion detections. There is currently a feature request (which I've voted for) to enable night vision IR LEDs only when motion is detected, which should basically solve this. They have a list of new rules they're working on and are taking votes on which ones to do first.

I considered using an external light but the internal one is plenty for my purposes (other than the reflection issue I mentioned that was fixed with some black paint), if they can make it so it is activated by motion to eliminate the false positives it will be perfect for me.

If I have this camera in a different country, use a SD card and have WiFi connectivity, can I view the footage recorded and stored in the SD card from my phone app in the US?

Yes. You don't have to be on the same network to watch live footage
