That's good to know. So far I've taken apart a couple of this type handheld water flossers after they stopped working. Both had water on the inside electronics. Surprisingly, once I dried the boards off, they started working again. Unfortunately, I am yet to find a way to take these things apart non-destructively.
My guess is that some water sips out though the seals in the pump mechanism, when it pushes water out. If one doesn't use water flossers often, that water has enough time to evaporate. But if one uses it, say, three times a day, the water starts to build up inside the case, and eventually shorts out electronics. Charging port usually fails first, because it is closer to the bottom of the flosser, so it has a higher chance of getting wet.
Mind me asking how often you usually use yours? I think it might be a good idea to get two of these, and switch them around every couple of weeks, to make sure each gets a chance to fully dry. I suspect this way they will last a lot longer.
