Crappy reviews, but they have a one year warranty and seem to be responsive. And at worst it looks like you can use the base with a different umbrella if need be in the future.

Rolled the dice with two.

Very inexpensive...thinking about giving it a try. Is this a weighted base or one of those that has to be filled with sand?

so do we chalk up the bad reviews to people not knowing that you need to put sand in the base or otherwise not knowing how to assemble properly? seems like some people are saying it works really well.
