I don't know what people here are talking about. I buy Black tickets when I'm going to see movies in CA. I pay $12 for each ticket. I use them to buy tickets for Dolby Cinema movies. I get $16 discount on the movie ticket.
So for a $22 Dolby Cinema ticket I get $16 off, and pay $6, for a total of $18. which is $4 less than the ticket would have cost.
I don't understand how that's not a good deal when otherwise you wouldn't be able to see that movie in that theater on that day/time.
I recommend reading the 1-star reviews before buying these. Looks like it's at best a money loser or you come out even with buying tickets direct. And AMC customer service is essentially nonexistent. I'll invest all that money in Blu-rays and popcorn kernels.
Deal is not the best, you're better off going on a Tuesday. Lot of hate here for amc. Just wanted to say my experience has been amazing both in person and through their customer support. Might get downvoted but that is my experience.

So the yellow tickets only give you $10 discount instead of the full amount of a ticket? In my area, non-matinee ticket costs about $13.
I've never had that happen. Yellow tickets have paid the full price of the ticket, considering the $20 gift card added on, that's a lot cheaper than buying the tickets at the theatre.

If you go for movies on Tuesdays only, then you are correct. But quite a few people actually go over a weekend, hence this might be a good deal for them.
Does any one know if u can use the eGC to buy tickets or is it for concession only ?

Gigantic TV's are fairly cheap now. I definitely don't go to the movies as much as I used to. Especially with the horrendous pricing of popcorn and drinks

But this seems like a much worse deal. I can go on eBay and get 2x black tickets 2x drinks 1x popcorn for under $30.
