I'm pretty skeptical of these because of fakes, but I can't find any evidence of fake power stacks. I'll roll the dice and call DEWALT when I get it. I haven't tried the powerstack yet but I've heard it's a beast

Have bought this and the 5ah/1.7ah combo deal before, the batteries are legit.

The 5ah has great output for high drain 20v devices like recip saw, grinder, SDS hammer, while the 1.7 is great on the compact driver, drills, flashlights, etc where you want good power & compact, light weight.

2nd this. 5ah is great for a saw where the capacity and consistent current are advantagous. I'm holding out for a good 1.7ah kit for my drills

Thus, in high demand usage, that's where it will fulfill Dewalt's claim of delivering 50% more work per charge. It stays cooler and can work for longer whereas an 18650-based 5.0 Ah battery might tap out early. Although it can surpass the power delivery potential of the XR 5.0 Ah battery, it is a little larger and heavier, which is a tradeoff.

I received it today. Somehow it came with a charger. The battery was not in factory sealing. Not sure if it is new
