It's a very useful too if you garden. I pulled a bunch of weed using this. It's effortless.

Ah yes, my favorite gardening tool/prison shank is on sale again. This is a surprisingly good weeding tool, and well worth the $13 price.

This was on sale last year somewhere around $8 or so, and I got one for my Aunt that loves to get out in her garden. I haven't heard what she thinks about it, but it seems like a very sturdy gardening tool.

Awfully shilly in here. Anyone to care to provide meaningful insight as to what makes this tool so much better than a serrated blade on any other knife?
For me it was the curve. The blade isn't straight, so circling around a plant is much easier. (also I don't have any regular hefty stainless steel knives that would work for this anyway)

the serrations are only occasionally helpful, but when they are it's really nice to have and being serrated doesn't get in the way otherwise.

The shape of the tool is excellent for digging holes for planting, fantastic for weeding and getting the roots of the weed out. it's just a very nice design, and helpful for many various gardening activities. I personally prefer the 'full tang' versions, with the blade metal going all the way thru the handle, but this is fine and good for the price.

I really like mine, pretty nice quality too. I just took up metal detecting and plan to use mine when doing it. It's a good gift for moms, aunts and other little old ladies in your life that like gardening too.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but the blade has a curvature to it that lets it function as a mini trowel as well. I agree with the others--it's a versatile tool that does a great job of stabbing, digging, cutting, and scooping--all great traits for weeding.

I agree with all the other commenters. I've been able to pull up some really thick weeds with this thing and it feels like the metal should bend but it doesn't give at all. The serrations are good if you want to chop off the end of something and can't necessarily reach the root. I bought this on a whim and have been pleasantly surprised.
