Since there have been a number of popular deals on the 8bitDo retro mechanical keyboards lately with some gnashing of teeth that it didn't have a numpad, and supplies may not last, I present preorders for the official 8bitDo retro mechanical numpad! Coming July 15. The keyboard also has preorders newly up for an 'M' edition (original PSX or gray Gamecube?). The numpad will be available in all four flavors, but currently preorders are only up for the 'M' and 'N'[ES] versions. If it's anything like the keyboards, it'll look super-cool and feel great.

ALSO, at the 8bitDo shop they've made available all kinds of keyboard accessories, including replacement buttons, new buttons in a variety of colors, and joysticks like the ones that are shipping with the new C64 keyboards.

Preorder?
A preorder is when you order (an item of merchandise) before it is available, with the understanding that it will be shipped later.

I like the numpad idea as an optional extension (especially since I'm missing it a bit as part of my NES retro keyboard), but the fact that it costs about half the price of the full keyboard is...ouch.

I'll wait for it to go on sale.

I actually really need one of these. My work laptop doesn't have a num pad. Definitely waiting for these to hit $20 though. I doubt these will sell well

I just bought a generic amazon one. The cheapest Wireless ones were around $30 with no brand. I doubt that the price will fall all the way to $20 anytime soon.

Might be a little more popular than you're expecting.

300+ is a drop in the bucket to be honest.

Anyone know if you can run both the keyboard and keypad off of a single 2.4mhz dongle? I'd prefer not to have to connect both.

I've liked it so far. Nothing to complain about. The volume knob is weird is about it, but it's not a functional problem. And as others have said - It lacks the number pad. So if that's a problem be aware.

I haven't set up the big A/B buttons yet, but they're pretty silly and I like them.

Numpad from Microsoft let you change keys to different functionality and is around $20 - $30

I have the keyboard and love it but this is too expensive. It's not a deal.
