I got this last summer and use it for day hikes and car camping. The stainless steel feels like good quality and keeps water cold. The lid feels a little less quality, kind of lightweight or flimsy compared to camelback equivalents I've used. But it doesn't leak when it's closed, and it's nice that the straw cover locks shut, particularly while driving I don't worry about it in the back with the rest of the equipment. I'm happy and think it's a good deal at this price if you are in the market for a water bottle of this size.
What's so special about takeya?
Curious I am in the market for one
Their lids are 100% leak proof, easy to clean and made of tritan plastic.
Bought two for my kids and they're yet to break them unlike other brands they used to break easily.

These are nice aside from the rubber ring that acts as a lid opening mechanism. It will break after a certain amount of open/close cycles, and the company won't respond to emails about getting a replacement ring. Aside from that, the bottle works just fine.

Have this and getting another one as backup. It's been a great water bottle and has not ever leaked when tipped over. Amazing level of insulation keeps my water cold for days. The only annoyance I can think of is when changing elevation as in driving through a mountain pass, the contents can become pressurized. When opening slowly under this condition (the straw portion opens before the vent) the pressure can cause the contents to be expelled through the straw opening. Very minor complaint, obviously doesn't deter me from ordering another one.

I might get the stainless half gallon, the insulation should be a good upgrade.
