I bought the x7 and this black Target one to compare. As far as I can tell after close inspection, the only difference is the colors and price. Both axes have same grooves/design on the plastic handles, same grippiness and nearly identical weight (within a tenth of an ounce).

So it comes down to aesthetics and color preference. No functional difference as far as I can see.

As far as I can tell, the X7 is reinforced making it better for heavy use. Though a possibly downside is that it has a silicon-type handle making it possibly harder to maintain a grip for some people. The Target one has ridges in the handle, though is plastic.

Kind of dumb, but I'm leaning more towards the X7 for aesthetics lol

Is this a good hatchet for chopping wood? I happen to be at a local Menards, saw it, asked to price match, but can only lower their price to $25 bucks out the door. Target is next door but too lazy to drive there….and I declined Menards' price due to principle. Thoughts on the hatchet?

The head is very wedge shaped and has a very good shape for splitting medium to smaller pieces of wood. It's not that great as an all around hand axe that has shallower cheeks so the axe doesn't get stuck in the wood.
