Actually it doesn't take a lot to make use of membership. The benefit of $5 bonus, free large popcorn and drink during bday month and 5x the points for watching movies makes up for the membership quite well for average movie going person. In addition, waiver of convenience fee when booking a ticket has its own value too.

But yea, being SD, a lot of ppl would argue they never eat anything at movies, get tickets at counter etc. The value may differ, but there is definitely good use of it for a lot of people.

My renewal was 10/31/24. Canceled renewal, used OP's link, paid $15.99 with tax, renewal date is 10/31/25.

I am hoping for a better deal too like $10 AMC had before but I think AMC is going to the $5 bonus bucks route instead now.

You can use $5 bonus bucks towards a movie if you are Premiere or A-List.

It's been $15 for a while unless there's a promo. The incentive here is you get $5 bonus bucks which usually takes 5,000 points to get.

In covid it was $5 dollars but that was Covid. Normal price was $10 before they upped it to $15 for some reason. Not worth it unless you're really planning on going to AMC a lot.

At this point your buying the companies debt with these prices

Actually it doesn't take a lot to make use of membership. The benefit of $5 bonus, free large popcorn and drink during bday month and 5x the points for watching movies makes up for the membership quite well for average movie going person. In addition, waiver of convenience fee when booking a ticket has its own value too.

But yea, being SD, a lot of ppl would argue they never eat anything at movies, get tickets at counter etc. The value may differ, but there is definitely good use of it for a lot of people.

The biggest benefit for those that don't get concessions is to book online with waived fees. However, if you're booking for 4+ tickets, even the free tier gets those waived as well.

My Emagine theater chain gives out free popcorn every Tuesday (free or paid membership), plus it has the discounted $5 Tuesday tickets. I think MJR (another chain in Midwest) does something similar.

I was hoping for half off membership as well. The break even point before was like seeing 3 or 4 movies a year with the wife (if we booked online, to avoid convenience fees). Not even sure we did that last year. We went out with coworkers more to Emagine since they couldn't deal with the older style seats -_-'

Hey, WOC, what was the cost for the deal a few years ago when we were able to renew for 3 to 4 years all in the same deal, do you remember? Confused

Nvm. I checked and I'm set thru until July 1, 2025 my Birthday is June so the drink and popcorn are free, then I'll need to renew.

I don't consider it as 5x for premiere, but 1/5th the points for non-premiere. Honestly they shouldn't even bother giving points if it's going to be that small.

Weighing the cost vs benefit, you'd have to spend $150 a year to make your $15 membership back, but using Atom promos (Tmobile Tuesdays or Angel freebies) can rack up credits quick.
