Did you miss the "Made in Japan" in the title or on the front of the box? Vessel makes perhpaps the best screwdrivers in the world (Megadora), and they are the oldest manufacturer of screwdrivers in Japan.

These may be high quality not unsure what makes them worth the money. No matter what they wear out and cheaper ones and cheaper to replace

If you're talking about the "ball" below the tip, then that is Vessel's shock absorbing part of the torsion bit to help with impacts and torque. Honestly, not sure how much better it is from traditional impact bits but I can trust Vessel at least.

I'm not arguing about quality. I'm asking what makes this better than other sets that are cheaper.

It obviously depends on a direct comparison to give specifics, but since you aren't specifying, it's generally fair to say a $5 set won't give you the assortment of this length of impact rated bits. Also, in high torque applications several of the cheap bits are prone to instant destruction that doesn't happen with a quality bit. Flats twist and Torx round off on very cheap bits in ways that do not occur with more reputable tools.

In an impact these will wear out eventually, but if they are twice as durable for double the cost, it seems nonsensical to me to support the worse tool. Many people use this set with the bit holder I've posted below. Used by hand as a bench set, this would last indefinitely, and it can do jobs that a poorly-hardened set just won't.

I've got many cheap tools, and I like a lot of Harvor Freight offerings, but bits are not a place I've found good value for cheap.
