Should be in-store, considering he said he found it in the clearance area. Most, if not all, clearance items will be in-store only, as far as I'm aware.

Tried it out yet, how's it work? They show it w/ a 16d sinker but 18 oz is on the light side for that...except for smaller jobs +/-. Maybe that's why it's clearance.

18oz is not on the lighter side. Only 18-year-olds with a chip on their shoulder swing 24s or 28s these days. 18-20 is the normal framing weight, especially with so many swinging Stilettos and Martinez these days. 14-16 is more of a "finishing" weight but honestly no one really frames with a hammer anyway, it's all pneumatic or battery guns, so I see more and more carrying lighter hammers for all the other tasks.

I had this hammer for a few years now as a DIYer and i reach for it all the time. It feels good in the hand, no vibration in the handle. At 18oz its heavy enough to drive those 16d nails with no issues, the larger face helps not to miss either.

One thing to note though depending on how your strike something and the material you can end up with a sharper corner or an edge. Especially on sheet rock instead of a round dimple you can have a edge. Depending on your preference one might be better than the other.

I don't have this hammer, but a DOGYU with a nail head in it. I use it far less than I thought I would. I end up using a air nailer when I need to do a ton of nails. The nail holder definitely takes some practice to get right. It is a different swing. This hammer looks beyond awkward to swing. If you are worried about your fingers, I HIGHLY suggest using the clothes hook trick.

Recently I have developed "tennis" elbow. thus only use pneumatic for DIY work.

Not the Amish. There are crews around here and only manual tools for them!

Just wondering, is that a thing that you need to watch out for when purchasing a lifetime warranty product?
