Was looking to pick up 2 switches for the kids. Does each switch need its own game purchase or can they be shared?

They can be shared for digital games you make switch one the home console. Anyone can play games on it. Switch two has to use the account that purchased the games and has to check on WiFi before starting the game. So kind of pain when traveling with both switches

So in theory if both switches always stay home you should be able to have 2 switches on the same account with no issues? And if we did bring one on vacation just make sure it's the "home" console? My wife was asking me this exact question yesterday

You can't play the same game at the same time if both are connected to the internet. The Seitch checks if the other console is playing the game already. You can get around this by putting the primary or home switch into airplane mode.

Good to know thank you. That shouldnt be an issue since the kids don't really like to play together.

Sharing the digital games is very ymmv. If one of my kids is playing any game on the main switch then my other kid can't play any digital game on his switch. It's super annoying because it's supposed to work as the other commenter here stated. I've seen many others online complain about this same issue while I was trying to find a fix. I pretty much only have purchase physical games now because of this reason.
