Hard disagree. Z-wave or zigbee is far less battery intensive, and they can be locally controlled. Many wifi IoT devices use proprietary or cloud services for control, which adds latency and also introduces a 3rd party point of failure. None of my z-wave devices will ever stop working due to a company going out of business or deprecating their servers.

It's not zwave+

It's S0 Protocol (not S2)

Yes. It is quite a deal. I have been using this very lock for the past 7 years and it has held up amazingly. Originally I was skeptic about it thinking that maybe it might last for around 7 months to 2 years. I keep the physical key that comes with the lock on my keychain but I have never used it to open my front door. What a great buy this Yale lock is.

Edit: These one review on Amazon that says that this lock the Yale ‎YRD210 does not work SmartThings which is false. I have been using this lock just fine with ST the entire time that I have owned it.

any idea on shipping times? Amazon has it for $9 more (which is still cheap) but I can get it tomorrow. Woot says 13-15 June. Is that a realistic date or is there a solid chance it will be here sooner?

Hubitat is my go to for playing with home automation, I move to frequently to have long term setups but always do some basic stuff in places I move into. It is all local command so it does not require an internet connection to operate and processes everything on the hub, which is great compared to smart things and a few others that require a internet connection at all times.

This is a great deal and a fantastic lock. The zwave part is a module that can be changed to Zigbee or Homekit or BT.

If you're in the market for one, at this price it's a "buy now and figure it out later"

My slightly different z-wave Yale smart lock eats batteries like a starved coyote .... I have to change them about every 3 weeks. Started using rechargeable batteries that give about the same endurance.

Everything else about the lock is great.

How is this a good price? It looks like it's regularly on amazon for $38?

FYI, any battery operated z-wave device have the signal of a potato. couple of feet and the signal is dead
This is not a concern if you have other zwave devices, they create a mesh network amongst all zwave products. my entire house is zwave and I have no issues with operating the furthest zwave device at the far end of my garage. As insurance, I purchased a zwave repeater/extender for 'in case' needs, but its been unplugged and not in use

i'm using zooz devices 700 series. anything with a battery just loses connection all the time. even with a direct line of sight. switches do not have this problem.
