Would you happen to know if these are upgradeable in any way? Specifically, is the RAM soldered? I tend to hold onto thinkpads for a very long time, and upgrading RAM has proven to be the best way to allow for that.
If longevity is important, this may be something to look into https://frame.work/products/lapto...y-amd-7040. It costs more initially. But, it can be upgraded in the future which might have a lower overall cost.
Are you trolling?
This thing has 64GB (!!) 6400 Mhz Ram. How much more do you need in a laptop?

Based on testing many laptop displays, these Thinkpad 4K+ 60 Hz anti-reflective OLED are the best. It's similar to the new iPad Pro OLED (without nano-texture). My only gripe is fan noise during moderate work.

Even if you could upgrade the RAM, I'd be surprised if the motherboard/CPU/etc could actually support more than 64GB.
This is also super high spec RAM. Swappable RAM usually runs at a much, much lower speed and higher latency.
How used are these? I've been told to be wary of "refurbished" laptops because they might have been used very harshly running 24/7 in corporate environments. Is the longevity reduced because these have been previously used?
Except they ARE cheaper, and include a 2YR warranty if bought on ebay.
If it's your opinion that the price isn't good for a 16" 4K OLED with 64GB RAM laptop, then please show us where there is a better deal now?
"Refurbished" can mean a lot of things -- 200 point inspection and all wear items replaced. Or hit with 2 seconds of compressed air and "it turns on".
For just a few dollars less than brand new, it's a no-go. Should be significantly cheaper since it's a risk. And those warranties -- they already got your money. Good luck exercising your warranty should something happen. Maybe you're sitting around doing nothing all day, so there's no opportunity cost if you have to argue with someone who barely speaks English for hours on end to get a replacement for a bum unit.

Still, no link to the "few dollars more" new one that I can buy today? It's Lenovo refurbished so I'm confident it's like new. If not, I have an easy 30 day return.
Not able to make up my mind on this p16s or p14s refurbished deal, any guidance on which one is a better deal and value for money in general? Any suggestions from the fellow SD members would be helpful.

And I'd like to see what this feels like in person. 3.75lbs is pretty light for a 16".
EDIT: https://youtu.be/kg-jtGa1yw8?si=wtP
its plastic - not magnesium like other premuim thinkpads
