No, but every switch thread someone brings it up again. It wasn't the docks. Nyko made some bad chargers that were sold with their docks, which were not compliant with USB-C, and sent high voltage when it shouldn't have (greatly simplifying here).
Apparently the Switch is capped at 18w input power, so anything more is for other devices that require more power for faster charges.
It was actually Nintendo that shipped the Switch with a non-standard USB-C port configuration.

https://gonintendo.com/stories/30...d-party-do

They fixed it with a firmware update.

The charge controller regulation for USB devices is ultimately up to the device, not the charger. Nintendo being Nintendo, they bucked the trend on that one and then pointed the finger at a missing resistor in the third party chargers (which is not standard to PD spec).

I think the only correlation with Nyko is they were one of only a few companies putting out third party docks at the time.

Regardless, the only way you're bricking a Switch these days is if you've never played a game on it since release, as most of them will force you to update past v5.0.

Can someone explain why there are different wattage options and which is best for the switch? I'm puzzled why there is 65W and 67W especially. Thanks.

Same…I didn't think the switch required much power.

I got one of these on a recent deal and can confirm that it works a treat. I also tested it with my Samsung phone and it works perfectly as a Samsung Dex hub too so it is multi-functional in our house. I tested it hooked up to a portable monitor and it was a perfect little gaming setup for my daughter's switch.

My guess is that it can be used to charge other usb-c devices that require PD wattage such as MacBook Air or laptops.

In for the 65w white version. Should work great with my iPad and steam deck too, I like white because it's easier to see in low light (under my desk). Will be nice not to have to unhook my switch dock to use on another display.
