Great Deal. I built my gym in 2016 and ~$1/lb was what I targeted as a deal for 8lbs - 100lbs x2. Not familiar with this brand and probably does not matter that much. All weights I've purchased have had a smell which goes away in a few weeks.

I agree... All the weights and plates I've bought have that smell. Heck, even latex free and memory foam pillows have it too. It's expected with the territory I guess... Kinda like buying a new car and complaining it has a new car smell
