The plastic on these are bad… become brittle after a very short time and then become useless. Read the reviews. I purchased last time and they were great until…

the blades don't seem to go dull. its been 3 years of owning them and they cut like new. plus they cut thru boxes and plastic like butter. very comfortable on the hands. Japanese made so you can expect quality

I think the comments speak for themselves https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...merReviews

You can tell by looking at the pictures that the plastic is cheap. You're really getting what you pay for with these. I'd rather have one of these Fiskars, than two of the cheap ones listed:

These aren't Titanium, deal should be edited to clarify it's Titanium-Coated (with a microscopically thin layer of titanium). I bought a 6-pack of the 7-inch version last year for $9.28 ($1.55 each, compared to $3.50 each with this "deal" though to be fair the 8-inch version is slightly bigger). I agree with others that it uses cheap plastic for some key parts, and if the Ti coating wears off the underlying steel will rust.

Edit to add: Staff promoted this to Frontpage but didn't bother to fix the description to say titanium-coated. Bleh.
