I used to think that too but that ship has sailed. That's just what these are called now and no amount of being annoyed by it is going to change it. Specifically the ones that are designed to be used with solar panels.

A gas generator generates power using gas.
A diesel generator generates power using diesel.
A solar generator generates power using solar.

It's annoying because they don't have an actual "generator" but it's technically not illogical since they're all things that generate power.

Your first two examples generate power by converting gas to electricity. This is different from the third which is just storing energy (the solar panel does the conversion), in the way that a battery a power station would.

If the ship did in fact sail, it's time for it to sink.

No tax in Florida this week for disaster prep. I know there are a lot of thumbs down for it being called a generator, but is this actually a good value and price?

Since you are also in FL...Don't waste your time.
You will be sorely disappointed.
Best to get a small inverter generator(dual fuel if possible).
this will barely keep a 15" basic laptop up and running (24hrs) under best conditions.

Ya, I was reading that in the product page. The capacity on this is pretty small.
