That's actually a great price for an AX extender. Normally for this price you only get the old generation 5 AC extenders. Depending on internet speeds can easily get around 500Mbps to most newer clients as long as you have internet over 500Mbps.

This also works nicely for the TP-Link OneMesh solution where a TP-LINK router forms a mesh with extenders.

They do help in many instances. But having it down near the floor is not ideal for radio devices such as wifi. Maybe try to get it up high where no other electronics, appliances, or large metal things like a filing cabinet would block the signal. Honestly a mesh WiFi system is the way to go. If brand new is too expensive can hunt for deals on eBay for secondhand mesh wifi systems.

Just wanted to add if people have a TP-Link Router, a lot of them support ONEMESH as mentioned in my previous comment. It forms a mesh with TP-Link wifi extenders and its their cost effective solution to spotty wifi problems. At this price if a person already has a supported router this is a no brainer add on.

I put it in my cart at $35.17, and went off to read some reviews. When I came back, it was up to $49.99, so I am passing for now. I thought about the version without WiFi 6 for $22.99, but will wait to see if the price comes back on this one.

As they always say, buy first think later when it comes to cheap stuff like this. As for the AC version, if you never plan on using the ethernet port you can expect to get around 200-300 Mbps using it purely wireless.

The ethernet port is actually a chokepoint (10/100 only) so you would be limited to only around 95Mbps at best if you were to hardwired the extender and use it in AP mode to the router.
