FireOS cannot compare to a real, unadulterated Android experience. Now granted, I have no idea what kind of bloat these TCL tablets may come with but surely it's better than Amazon's FireOS. And yes, you can remove some of that with Fire Toolbox, depending on which Fire tablet you have, though they've locked it down more with recent releases.
Keep in mind these tablets from TCL receive no love on XDA forums.
Either the bootloader is locked down or the demand is too low to get them rooted. And with TCL not releasing firmware updates, it's a bit of a wash.
At least FireOS is so universally hated that everyone and their grandma banded together to make root and other mods happen.
Not trying to thread crap. And I am fully open to being corrected.
Didn't these brands have bans put on them by the US Govt just a few years back because of embedded spying by the Chinese?
Again...not trying to thread crap. In fact, if TCL was not in that, I do hope that somebody corrects me.
And yes, I know that TCL TVs are very common. But a TV is not exactly like a phone/tablet/PC...with you actively entering info all day.
You might be confusing them with Huawei.
TCL and Hisense have, for the most part, attempted to play ball with the whole not installing backdoors into their customers' lives. It's how they've been able to maintain successful market penetration without too much scrutiny.
With that said, I think it's generally accepted that every company, including Apple, is acquiring some amount of data on you.
Otherwise, there'd be a bigger exodus from Amazon, Netflix, iOS, Windows, and Tesla.
The latest one with Amazon is that somehow scammers are getting people's phone numbers from USPS deliveries and then tracking the package so they can almost perfectly time when to send scam texts about your packages being rerouted and a link to their scam site.
It's sadly just a matter of picking who you're willing to bend over for.
This is no deal. WHY...
BECAUSE...
1. CPU is so SLOW
2. ONLY 4GB of RAM
3. Android 12 ???
4. Competition has caught up and this hardware is not considered a bargain.
Right now there are only a few Tablets to consider... two of them run Android 13 and two of them runs Android 14.
1. iplay 50 mini pro NFE ..... 8.4" ..... Android 13
2. Lincplus T3 ......... 10.3" .... Android 13
3. HeadWolf WPad3 .... 8.4" ...... Android 14
4. HeadWOlf WPad5 10.1" ($100.00 right now)... Android 14
The HeadWolf has better specs but the reviewers are claiming the iplay 50 mini pro NFE screen is better even though on paper the HeadWolf has 80 more nits?
All four devises almost share the same specs....
1. 8GB
2. 128GB or 256GB hard drive
3. G99 (GPU / CPU)
4. micro Sd cardslot
5. the iplay and headwolf seem to share the identical case both with a 3.5mm jack and both have a Sim slot.
These three tablets have sold between $91 - $150. These are the BUDGET friendly tablets on the market.
If you can wait it out... I wonder when the iplay 60 mini pro will be released? and with what specs? That is what I am hoping for and waiting for.

Good summary on alternative options but none of these non-name brands offers 5G cellular connection.

I never had an android device with 6gb so I'm probably wrong. 8gb minimum for me, and that problem never happened again unless I decided to play two games at a time lol

I'm not sure, just speaking from experience with Android devices with 4gb of RAM
