Enlighten us. What would be a good deal, and where?

106 for the tool bare if you use the hack. That puts this at 106 for tool at 19 for battery. It's a small battery to be sure but still seems solid pricing. I also think this is a good price to go with it: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../324525989

This maybe an unusually good price for this tool. But I like most people would rather get one of the dozens of 18v oscillating multitool kits for ~$99

Which are not "good deals" per say more like "normal" deals.

I'm probably in the minority then. I already have a pile of the 12V tools and batteries, and need another battery ecosystem like I need a hole in the head.

People who actually use these would rather have the M12. It's much more maneuverable and able to get into smaller spots. Go look at the reviews on youtube if you don't believe me. The M18 version offers nothing extra besides weight.

The M18 Fuel version has a larger oscillation angle at the same 20k OPM rate, and is definitely a more powerful tool. No shade at the M12, it is lighter and more maneuverable, and is a powerful tool in its own right, but there absolutely is a difference.

I have the M12 and it's great. It cuts better than my corded Bosch did when it was brand new.

I got this for $99 with a 6.AH battery last year. It ended up taking about 3 months to get it because the retailer way oversold. $125 with a 2.5AH HO isn't bad though, just not the best I have ever seen

Technically more powerful sure, but in real use I don't think I want a wider angle

Are you saying there's no situation where you'd want to cut faster?

I'm saying the point of this tool is precision, so that is more important than power. 99% of the time that I want speed and power I would just use a different tool

the point of a multi tool is not precision though?

If i'm trying to make a straight cut i'm certainly not pulling out a multi tool lol.
