Good looking watch, but not sure what makes this a "dive" watch. Also, I can confirm that the clear plastic does turn yellow. I have a clear GA2100 that turned yellow after just a few months and I only wore it a few times. I'm planning on dipping it in blue dye.

Yep. Clear yellows.

That's why they've got replacement case and bands on eBay etc.

Just budget for the replacement every couple of years.

I think I just returned basically the same watch to Macys. Didn't care about turning yellow but I couldn't read the time off the hands because those hour marks are the same color as the face of the watch. The hands are in the way of the digital display a good part of the day. digital display is so tiny I'm not sure why its even there.

Yea the classic digital is what you want for legibility, anything too busy is just for looks.

Why do people like these? Is the appeal the look? Quality? I think it looks terrible but to each their own… Just curious why these have a bit of a following.

Because it has a diver watch style. More importantly, it's water resistant to 20 bars which is 200 meters or 662 feet. That's legit to be considered a dive watch.
