Yes it's the year the original model came out. These are obviously newly produced shoes but retro'd.

Thanks OP, grabbed a pair of the olive ones. For those of you who missed out or your size is sold out........you can find varying years of these Air Max shoes at a lot of the Nike Outlet stores around the country on the clearance walls. And when they do the additional 20% off clearance, you can find these for right around the same price ($70ish).

I can't tell from the pics if these have the old air max bottoms or the new.

I have the 2016's, which have the nice soft rubber bottoms that are great. I've stayed away from the newer versions where they switched the bottoms to harder rubber that almost feels like plastic.

No larger sizes other than a 15 for the green. Overall good deal though.

I know these are for running. Has anyone used them to play pickleball? If so, what has your experience been?
These are not running shoes, they are for casual wear.

I thought I read in the shoe Details that they are running shoes. So, you would not wear these to play pickleball or tennis?

Absolutely not. These will feel unstable, especially as you move side to side (lateral). The air unit is literally an airbag that is designed to shift and absorb movement as your feet move - which is the opposite of what you'd need.

Nike makes plenty of hard court / tennis shoes, which will benefit you more than these. You can even get old TRs or metcons that will better suit you if you are price conscious.

Is just the 25% off regular price a decent deal? Want the all blacks and those don't go on sale often.

Man, those cream ones hit hard too...

I'll reiterate what the other guy said. Stay away from running shoes for pickleball/tennis. They're designed for forward/reverse movement, not lateral. You'll roll your ankle eventually if you play competitively. You want a wide flat base for these sports. An actual tennis shoe is your best bet for sure. They feel night and day better than other shoes not designed for the sport but if you really want to you can probably get away with some sort of training shoe or even a basketball shoe. I just wouldn't go running/walking unless you're just out casually hitting around and don't plan on running back and forth for shots.
