This is not a good deal if you are truly interested in tracing your family tree. Save your money and get the more expensive tests that will tell you much, much, more than the lower end test. The more markers that are tested, the more the field of people that are exact matches are narrowed down. I bought the cheapest test and so far over 10,000 men have been identified as matching my father's DNA. Once I pay for the more expensive DNA test, I will be able to get an exact match (assuming the unknown male we are looking for has been tested ).

I have used the cheaper tests for ages. I have helped over 20 people find their biological parents, then I encourage them to pay for the reduced Ancestry membership. This allows them to see their DNA matches. The best place is Ancestry to do research to find out who the biological parent is. But not by itself, often you have to upload your DNA to various sites you that can be done for free. You can get further DNA analysis at GEDMATCH.com. It is always best not to spend a lot of money in this day and economy. Especially if you don't need to. Ancestry with their trees attached to DNA is the VERY best place to start one's search. Make certain you try to find matches with high Centimorgans. Anyway, there is a group on Facebook, called DNA detectives. They will help you, however they will not do all the work for you. Their Angels are great at helping, though.
