It's the usual Southwest Air bait-and-switch "starting at $xx." All the deals are for places you don't want to go, or don't depart from where you live.

This kind of post should be deleted by mods. Sometimes it's nice to know a deal ahead of time as a deal post but this isn't even telling you what the deal is and we know Southwest deals like this are lukewarm at best. This should be over in a forum section of the website until the deal is live and we can vote on actual information.

Edit: It's worse than I thought, the original poster was staff too lol. I love this website but man it's not what it used to be. For those of you reading my comment later than others, I wrote this when there was 0 information about the actual deal, this posting started before Southwest had any info on the actual sale.

Yes, same. In the past I have been able to change an existing reservation and the code would automatically apply. Not this time. I had to cancel and rebook under a new confirmation number.

I got a pretty good deal out of Washington DC non-stop to New Orleans (I'm actually on the trip now) And it was $79 each way. Don't have to pay for up to two bags and there were 60 empty seats on the way down here from DC on a 2-hour and 7 minutes flight. That's cheaper than I could have driven for.

When I went to try and change my flight, it doesn't show a spot for the coupon code. The terms do also state on "new reservations only" .... so I had to do the cancel and rebook as well.

error codes out the booty.
all of which are vague.

if they simply stated the available cities... OMG, I could actually give them my money!

must be too easy and not fit their sneaky revenue stream

Can't confirm, but I was under the impression Rapid Rewards members get this "early access" window, and then it would open up to general public through 6/13. At least, that's how I interpreted the language they had been using.

I've been checking pricing for at least a month for a trip from Northern California to Ft Lauderdale. A couple options for the flight to Florida qualified for the promo, just $107. No flights qualified for the return trip but I bought tickets for $188. I'm happy with the price paid plus I used gift cards from Costco.
