Are they air tight without the lids? Then it's 12 airtight containers. You can't say shit tight and then count the lids separate.

It says 24 pieces not 24 containers. That's how everything is labeled. You new to the world?

Not sure if this will be helpful or not. In November 2020, I bought a SD set of borosilicate containers similar to these but country of origin said China. None of them broke but they chipped very easily, so I tossed them one by one, These say USA as country of origin so hopefully the quality will be better. Also, the capacity of each piece of this set seems much better. The smallest one in this set is 11oz, where in the China set I bought, the small containers were only 3-4 oz. I don't have the set shown in this deal but comparing the two it seems like a better set than the one from China I have and costs about $10.00 less than I paid in 2020 .

Mason jars are not made from borosilicate glass. These are more convenient for storing in the fridge and in lunch bags to bring to work. Who the hell is going to bring a bunch of mason jars to work?

Also I prefer not to reheat my lasagna in a mason jar.

According to the bad reviews - the lips on these chip and sliver so you could get glass in your food. That was enough for me to pass.

I find mason jars far easier to bring to work (fitting neatly in smaller backpack pockets), but that's just me. 32oz wide mouth ones are perfect for layering salad, and I haven't gone back.

I think the point is that it says 24 airtight pieces, but the 24 pieces aren't airtight. It's not airtight until you put the lids on, and then you only have 12 airtight pieces.

It's like if they said 24 2-quart pieces. That would only be true if all 24 pieces could hold 2 quarts each.

So, it is 24 pieces, but it is not 24 airtight pieces.

Both the Sam's Club (Korean) original brand set and the Ikea line (Chinese) have lids that are microwave and dishwasher-safe (provided they are not sealed to the container when heating, obviously).

These JoyJolt and others on Amazon use plastic in the lids that expands when heated and does not return to normal shape in both the microwave and/or dishwasher. That's too bad, because otherwise they would great sets for the $.

Also, I love the idea of a borosilicate glass storage set; however, a minority of reviews say there are quality issues and that the glass is much easier to chip than equivalent PYREX. This, and the lid issue dissuaded me from pulling the trigger on a third type of glass food storage (which is probably best for my sanity anyway).

Just my 2¢ on snap-lock type lids: I am totally done with lids that have plastic hinges that inevitably fail from repeated flexion fatigue, such as those found on Pyrex Snapware and Glasslock. I have so many containers missing lids that it's hard to think that it isn't planned by the manufacturers.

Agreed! Hoping there is something (glass) out there that actually lasts. I only hand wash the lids but still have this issue with Snapware. A lof of the lids fail over time because of flimsy hinges.

I went with Bentgo products using Kohl's deals which are on sale often (plus 40% off coupons when they pop up and Kohls Cash back if you don't mind playing that game). It's a little more expensive but top quality and the lids are glass too. And you can get glass that is divided into compartments if you want to customize your needs. Freezer, oven, microwave and D/W safe too.

Every set of multi piece kitchen storage has always counted lids and bins as separate pieces. It's not that big a deal at all once you get that, nobody gets angry that TVs are measured on the diagonal to 'get the biggest number'.
I am so angry that TVs are measured on the diagonal! Blowup
