If you're not a fan of the aspect ratio, don't buy this. There are tons of 4:3 and 16:9 (and some 3:2) retro emulation handhelds that you can go buy. This is a niche product for people who appreciate a 1:1 screen.

Personally, I really enjoy my RGB30 which has a 1:1 screen and is great for GB/GBC (10:9), SNES, NES, and Genesis (in 8:7 display mode), and PICO-8 (1:1).

This could be a good buy for people who want a higher-end version of that. I personally won't be getting this because I don't want Android for emulating those systems and I'm not a fan of the color schemes they chose, but there's definitely a clear purpose for this handheld.

This looks awesome & I want it. I should buy it so it can sit with the other 3 awesome systems I don't play because I forgot I grew up & have too many other things to do!!!!

The code isn't working for me. I wonder if it works on specific setups only?

Edit:

Looks like the one with the bag didn't work for the grey model.

Not a fan of that aspect ratio...games don't use 1:1. Why not a 4-inch or larger 4:3 for retro games?

Same here, really enjoy the form factor of my RGB30, was hoping Anbernic would come out with a higher end version that would fix some of the issues I have with the RGB30 (like the poor battery life for one). This isn't quite it for me personally (also not a fan of Android, nor the fisher-price look, though the black version doesn't look too bad), but I can totally see the appeal. 20% off is a good deal for a device that hasn't even hit the streets yet.

Is this stronger than the rg505? I like the form factor but I already have the 505 so if this isn't any better I can't justify getting it

The issue is that gameboy is the target resolution. Anything else is compromised in terms of screen area. But gameboy doesn't require too much performance and this is absolutely overkill for it. I'd have preferred a lower cost model with a lower end cpu.

Much nicer than the RG405M, wish they'd put that 4:3 screen in this one's body.

great for arcade shooters too, click the link to all items in the sale, search anbernic, it appears to work on many other form factor devices of theirs as well
