Since they're shoehorning DJI drones into this Act, I am at a loss to figure out how it would apply to ordinary citizens. It reads like all of that equipment would be grounded, period. But since the reimbursement program was specifically for service providers, I don't see how it would apply to individuals. How would they police it? Would individuals be eligible for reimbursement for a new drone? Will they add more funds since I would guess DJI drone sales are well in excess of $1 billion and most those funds are probably already spent for previous telecom equipment. I have more questions than answers after reading this...

Regarding the ban, I don't know how realistically or easily they can stop people from flying. Everyone has an opinion, I'm not smart enough to know which are more likely correct.
I do believe that knowing our government, it will at least be a few years out before they effectively shut everything down if that's what it comes to.

Apple and Google will probably ban the app from their App Store but I don't think they'll remotely delete the app from your phone. However whatever company was hosting servers for DJI might stop servicing them making the app useless and therefore the drone as well.
I believe the vote to ban DJI is tomorrow but who knows when it'll go the senate for a vote and then the White House.
I thought it had to be sideloaded on android only.

I know there's a segment of folks who talk completely out of their asses sometimes, but in case I missed a line or two I didn't want to speak out of school on this.
