The 7900x3D is the black sheep of the lineup. Dual CCD makes the X3D v-cache a mess to deal with. If you need high performance multi-thread + high performance gaming then get a 13900k/14900k or 14700k, if you only care about gaming then get a 7800x3D.

And lol you're speculating on the 9800x3d class which aren't even out? In that case I'll throw in the 5900x3d and 5950x3d to be faster than the 5800x3d.
edit: jeeeeeesus this mitya kid. ah well.

7900X3D and 7950X3D identical in performance? That's not what I'm hearing from everyone else. Those processors are inferior to the 7800X3D in gaming performance while being better for productivity. The number of cores on the X3D is less on those processors than the 7800X3D because 8 cores are bundled together on the 7800 version while the 7900 has to split its cores to two sets of 6 cores each making it inferior in gaming to the 7800X3D. The other poster got it right, the 800X3D versions of the processors is what gamers prefer. The 600 and 700 are inferior versions and are discounted heavily because they don't sell as well (cheaper doesn't make them better than the 800X3D)
And that's what I feel like why you're saying the 5800x3d is better than the 600 and 700. Those opinions are "outdated". At MSRP they may not be as good but have you seen the sales? $160 for 5600x3d micro-center exclusive, $200 for 5700x3d but $270 for the 5800x3d. No way you can tell me the 5800x3d is good value vs that, especially when the 5000x3d may be seen more as just a placeholder/slot-in upgrade for AM4 users until the AM5 motehrboards/CPUs get cheaper. 5700x3d and 5600x3d are akin to down-binned 5800x3d's, no way you're losing close to $70 worth of performance.
but you'll need a new motherboard, it's why I went to a 5800x3d a while ago
