yup...that's why I won't bite, even if they were free.

Is this a good price for the spotlight cams? I need two for the sides of my house.

Is there a way to get any of these to play the alarm/siren as a deterrent without the user manually activating it? I want the siren or other sound effect to sound automatically to deter intruders.

Forget the prices - it's the recurring costs that trip you up.

Not 100%, you don't need a subscription to view live video, but you have to subscribe to view all of the videos that they save from your device.

They used to be better, but they kept decreasing the free options and increasing the price of the subscription. Ditched them a few years ago.
Could you please let us know which system you are using now and how satisfied you are with it
Thank you

If you are in the ecosystem and have a bunch of their devices the monthly fee is reasonable. But not for just one or two cams or a doorbell.

My old wired Ring doorbell pro (first version) has an Alexa greeting thing you can trigger if someone gets close to the door. My other door has a battery Ring doorbell and it doesn't have the option, to save battery power I assume.

I would much prefer wired than to change batteries out every 3-6 months like I had to on my blink doorbell.
I wish my Arlo cams were every 3 months. I have to charge them weekly 😤

Keep in mind Prime Days are coming in July. In the past there have always been a ton of deals on the Ring equipment during Prime Days. So if you don't see the product you want here, you only have to wait another month for another sale. Prime Days are specifically highlighting Amazon owned products: Ring, Echos, etc...

But these prices are pretty great. The lowest price I've seen on the stick up cams with battery is $30. I've picked up about 15 over the last few years, and they have all been refurbs, mostly from Woot, and I've only had issues with 2 of them. Ring did a trouble shoot with me on both of them, and then sent replacements when they couldn't fix it. Very smooth experience.

For $30 I'll grab a couple more Stick Up Cams. And if you don't want to screw into your house to mount them, use these twist mounts to mount them. They can wrap around gutters, deck railings, etc... and they're firm enough that they don't move in the wind.

Yes. I had 2 cameras that started showing red and green images and I just called Ring tech support to troubleshoot them. They weren't able to fix it, so they sent me 2 new cameras. This was 2 different times too, a couple years ago. I've picked up over 15 Ring cameras, all refurbs and haven't had any other issues.

That's why I went with Eufy, pay up front, but don't need to pay fees later to check recorder video
