When they realized how big and heavy this is compared to a more compact version that'll still be plenty to get the job done, yeah there's lots of regret with people buying these big guys.

Milwaukee makes comparable impact wrenches, but that old old old version that Home Depot is selling isn't even close to the same ball park.

I got a $5 off $5 coupon in email when I made an account. Came immediately.

There's a 10% off coupon for signing up to their rewards account, but it mentions regular prices items to I imagine it wouldn't apply. It won't let me use mine yet though, so if somebody else can confirm that'd be great.

$5 off coupon also doesn't work, only non-sale items.

From what I've read the DCF900P1 is huge and probably overboard for a home car mechanic or DIY'r and that the DCF891B is more versatile and practical. Is this accurate or should I pull the trigger on this guy???

You'd probably be fine with the 923 for most jobs...
I just swapped an engine and some suspension bits on my car, the only thing I needed more than the 923 was the crank bolt (only time I've needed to use the 891)
Obviously YMMV, if you've got a truck and/or rust. 900 is a very large tool, and I haven't found a need for that yet besides some bragging rights...

My take on it is this (and it's going to not apply to all people's situations). I have a m12 stubby impact wrench I use for anything it's capable of handling (which is probably most) and I'd only use this one when it couldn't handle something. So in that case I'd rather take this one esp since I don't really see the other one coming close to this on sales as this deal, in the past.

That being said, if I could get the one you mentioned cheaper then this I'd just jump on that. So I agree on your premise of it being enough, just not on which one I'd choose at similar prices
