It seems like you can earn only on your 1st trx and very limited selection of purchase

Not sure how it works on the "must use link" cash back offers, whether it becomes more like your typical cash back sites that are more restrictive to what you can actually buy compared to the offers that only go by the charge on the card.

So what gets you the CB, seems like almost everything is excluded

Yeah, seems like an oversight. Usually, they have a low limit - in this 15% cashback case, I wouldn't be surprised if it was limited to max $15 off of $100 purchase and someone forgot to put that fine print in there.

Also, the wording seems confusing with regards to completing the transaction on the first opening of link. What if you browse the first time thru link, then come back the 2nd time or 3rd time and actually make a purchase then?

It just means you must complete the purchase within the same session, you can't navigate away and go to Sam's again; just like any other cash back site.
