This particular model uses 3 18650 Lithium Ion cells.
IMO the issue with this one is the available room for the collected crud. It is very limited, so frequent emptying is needed.
18650....my favorite cells!

Wait for this one to go on sale if u want one with a lot more power. The one listed here is very weak in my experience.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank lolimazn

per website manual and review, you have to hold the power button the entire time in order to use this thing. Just FYI.

I had this exact model and the battery died just after the warranty ended.

LOL at the person vacuuming cereal off her kitchen counter. Gross and overkill at the same time.

I use Ryobi rechargeable/replaceable ones now to avoid throwing these junk ones away every year.

That one is no better than this one. Look at comparative reviews on YouTube. They're both pretty crap.

Interestingly the two 12Volt Max models are back in stock and the 2AH one is out; just ordered the Max model w/base. Theses vacs are quite handy for quick cleanups IMO.

This is in stock again:

Dustbuster 12V Max AdvancedClean Slim Cordless Handheld Vacuum w/ Jack Charger (HLVC315J10) $21.70.

But.....don't order it. Get the one with the base charger instead! Only $3 more. Base charger is more convenient.

I bought a similar one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

As well as about 2-3 other no-name/chinese mini vacuums over the years

The no-name ones would tend to kill the battery within a couple months of (non-regular) use. Even attempting to charge it for hours, I'd only get 2-3 minutes of power after the 2 month mark.

The Black & Decker seemed about comparable in quality (with a $10+ price increase). You DO need to hold the button down to use it, opposed to an on/off switch. Some of the other no-name ones have extra attachments and little extras like a flashlight which were nifty, but not used very much.

The one thing I both hated and loved about the black and decker, was the stupid charging dock. There is no normal power cord, it has a wall-mounted dock to charge it. Previously, I didn't use the vacuum nearly enough to justify having a dock permanently plugged in or attached to a wall.. an AC cable would have been much easier.

After moving, and using the vacuum regularly, the dock is nice to have. But keep that in mind when buying it as it could affect your decision.

After about 9 months the vacuum is still holding up strong, same for the battery.

I did previously have issues with another Black+Decker appliance (bought on amazon, well beyond the return policy) and they quickly replaced it without any hassle, so I do have a little more faith in them and can justify the $10 increase
