Good deal and worth it to upgrade from a 3600? I noticed it this morning. I'd be using it for a virtual pinball cabinet paired with a 6800xt. Thanks.

No. Same CPU performance, but with an integrated GPU.

No. There is a modest bump. If you're going to stay AM4 try to get an X3d

I have an i7-6700k. I am looking to upgrade to a bang for the buck processor and mobo. I do some basic older gaming and not a big power user. My processor wont do win 11. I have an rx580 gpu that does me just fine. What cpu should I be looking at.

I had a i5-2500k and upgraded to a 5700x ($150 deal on here) around Christmas. I wanted 8 cores and low power usage. Pretty happy. This would be a fine processor, but I like the 5600x better since you don't need the integrated GPU.

Thanks! I'm guessing either one would be a good choice. Smilie

Did they just run out of the 5600g, and added a "t" to resell day old cpu's?

Isn't the upcoming new line of AMD chip going to put the ryzen line into obsolescence?

It has improved GPU performance, so they did put effort into the design of this CPU.

Well, you could get yourselves a decent B550 board for $80 and drop in a used 2600 for $35 for just $10 more than this chip. It would be a worse gaming chip, but would keep up with that RX 580. Or a 3600 for another $20 or so. (If you want bottom dollar, $45 AliExpress Soyo B450/A520 boards do work.)

Or a B660 ($90) and a i3-12100F ($70) for somewhat more upgradability or to stick with Intel.
