In the month of July the most expensive 1 day, 1 person, 1 park pass in Disney I can find is $179.

For Universal a 1 day, 1 person, 1 park pass tops out at $164 in July.

The MOST expensive pass to Universal is an annual pass at $482
I think you can explore everything in 1 day.
For all the people complaining this isn't a deal for Universal Orlando: they're different parks in different markets. Universal Hollywood is way smaller than Universal Orlando and you can definitely see the entire park in one day assuming you show up first thing. So with this two day pass they're giving out a second day ticket that most people wouldn't be buying otherwise.

Orlando by contrast you can easily make a case for a two day visit, especially if you don't do express pass, since it's bigger and gets more crowded. And that's why they're not doing BOGO, because people will actually pay for a second day in Orlando.

Can these tickets be upgraded to annual passes? In the Past, I have upgraded promotional tickets purchased through undercover tourist, and they have given me the full value of the ticket. (Bought a 4 day ticket, and get one day free...they gave me the value of a 5 day ticket towards an annual pass. I think I paid $20 to upgrade).

Edit...This was in Florida

These days the tickets to universal and Disney are so expensive. Trying to buy tickets for one day one park at universal or Disney FL next month and one for CA in September, and I'm looking at almost $400 per person. Anyone has any suggestions on how to get discounts?

Do these have names on them? Can they be used the same day by two people? Can they be used on different days by different people?

How is this offer compared to the one from Costco?

Edit: Costco annual pass for $180

What was that other theme park from Costco that's good for 3 visits???? Lego Land? I could have sworn a couple of years ago Universal Studios Hollywood was good for 3 visits...

theyre expensive because attraction focused themeparks get more foot traffic, when compared to ride focused ones(Six Flags Magic Mountain) or other focus (e.g Knotts berry farm for its food).

you can only really blame that one kind of theme park is more popular than the other

How are you getting a price of $400 for a single person for a single day? Disney Florida, one person, one day, no park hopper is $154 - $184 depending on the day and park in July.

Dont forget - "From $109 and not $109". I dont see $109 price in Summer though.

Damn, before they would give California residents a whole year free with a one-day ticket purchase, guess that's stopped
