Weird, I've had this exact unit for 2 years and haven't experienced this. Meanwhile the Honeywell from the energy rebate deal back at the end of Feb. started making lots of noise and rattling after only 2 months.

I'm done with winix. Tired of the fan noise after a year or two.

Mine was rattling too until I changed the filters. Seems early for you to need that but worth a try maybe.

Same issue. Right around the two year mark started making an annoying high-pitched fan noise. No obvious way to remedy it that I've been able to find. Not bad enough to stop using the unit completely, but relegated to the guest bedroom so no one has to listen to it (except guests lol).

Can anyone recommend good low cost replacement filters for this model? There are a bunch of options on Amazon but with all the fake reviews going around i prefer to get a real person's opinion that wasnt paid to write it.

It's a bearing issue, warranty that it replace it yourself

I've run Winix for 8 years, never had a noise issue. We have 3.

The fan noise is very common. There's an YT video on how to take it apart. Lots of screws. And adding a rubber shim to where the cable is.

We have the fan noise on one after 4 years. It's in the corner of our living room now. I'm ok with that for the price.

The Costco $99 deal for new with extra filters is probably a better deal

My only thing with Winix is I HATE the lights. They're obnoxious and itd frustrating they recommend one for a nursery that has huge bright lights you can't turn off

Do you guys think it's worth pull the trigger or wait prime day / Walmart deals to see if can get a brand new for good price?

Easy fix on that part, put a few layers of tape over it.. I have a router like that and that's how I dim it completely without completely blocking it out.

While using filters, it is of utmost importance to choice the best one available at any given time. When cost gets considered, it just compounds the vitality. She received the filter in record time and installed her with extreme precision, only to find out later that he makes an unsavory measurement of noise levels. To my disregard, they were several points that should have been mitigated during the silencing process. A++
