It appears that the popular Maytronics "Dolphin" brand has purchased the rights to this Seauto Seal Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner. They seem to be clearancing out the Seauto branded units so they can post the new Dolphin Niya 50 units. The larger, more powerful "Shark" unit which has an inluded ultra fine filter is also here on Woot, but is considerably more expensive at this time at $487.

Thanks. In for one. I have owned a Maytronics corded cleaner for 5+ years. It's still going strong. I'm skeptical about cordless cleaners, but for this price I'll give it a try. Definitely more convenient with a battery!

I bought the Shark in April from a vendor on Wal-Mart for $399 and was able to get the protection plan.

The "ultra fine filter" only works in floor only mode (because it can't climb the wall with the extra weight). The extra filter is useless for me because if I put it in, then it gets stuck on the very bottom and it can't make it up the slope to the shallow end of the pool.

The claim for "intelligent route planning" isn't true either. You put it in and it goes in whatever direction it wants to until it hits and obstacle, backs up, and switches a random direction. I use it twice a week and only twice did I have to run it again because it didn't get the bottom corner of the deep end where most of the items take place.

It takes hours to charge but it typically runs 2+ hours, scrubs the walls, gets the major debris out, and I haven't had to vacuum the pool all season (tons of trees around and I also have the Betta bot). Besides that, it works great and I wouldn't hesitate buying it again. For reference I have an in-ground 20'x46'x10' pool.

Note: There were complaints in reviews about people needing to return theirs because the charger melted onto the device. The company blamed it on the customer not waiting until it was dry before charging it. I always wait a few hours before charging and haven't had an issue yet.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I've been using Seal daily since early May.
- it does run 2+ hrs. cleaning 50ft inground pool
- it cleans well. surprisingly well
- climbs 9ft walls easily
- support is slow to respond (had to replace charging adapter)
- Chargers quickly, so you can run it at least twice daily, if needed.
- 90 days warranty is puzzling (originally it's 2 years), but my guess Seato won't be around for long - just too much competition.
- $214 is a steal; that's basically a cost of one visit from a pool company in my /rather pricey/ area.

I have faith in the return policy. Got it yesterday and the first run I was impressed for the price. It is pretty hefty, not like the cheap $200ish aipher ones I've tried before.

Thanks! Just ordered. I see the Niya Sonar 50 (Dolphin branded) is already available and there is a video review confirming that they are the same unit on Youtube. Even if support for this thing goes out, replacement parts like the replaceable battery shouldnt be too hard to get down the line with Dolphin backing this unit. Great deal if all goes well.

I had no idea, thank you for the info. Outside of color they look identical. Would be interested to see if it pairs with the Niya app since I can't get it to work with the seauto one.

At this price I'm in for one! I alternate between a corded Dolphin and wireless Zima Blue but am unhappy with the Zima's short run times. I'll give this one a try and see how it compares.

Thanks for the info. Hearing that Maytronics/Dolphin bought the rights to this model is what made me pull the trigger so quickly. For me, availability of replacement parts is more important than support. Time will tell if it's truly a deal.
