Not a bad deal. These are not as power efficient as the 7000 series cards, but this is still an excellent performer. If you want to go Radeon, I would probably spend just a little more and buy the RX 7900 GRE. It retails at $550 but there was a PowerColor version sale just a few days ago for $500. With a $50 difference it's a no-brainer. At $100 more that would all depend on what you can afford to spend.

No one "needs" water cooling anything. I'm sure you can run a stock i9-14900k with an air cooler, granted the air cooler is big enough and the fans fast enough. Water cooling is better for some GPUs (4090 because of the massive card thickness for example), for smaller cases, if you want to show off your gpu, quieter cooling, or maybe you just want to water cool your gpu just because you already custom looped your cpu, which is more than fair at this price point.

But end of the day, if you don't have/actively want a custom loop, this deal isn't for you.

It's not a bad deal overall at $30 less than the slightly better 7800xt. Pretty good deal compared to other overpriced 6900xt or if you really want a water cooled one.

Does it have a more quieter fan?
I can't think of any pros aside from looks if it's not quieter.

Have the XFX 6900xt I got for 600 last year.

2k maxes out most games. A little lower for new titles like Helldivers.
4k can do 70~80 fps.

27" display and 5600x.

Lol if only we could bid. $400 and I'd pull the trigger now. A few more months and $400 would be overpriced for this

I've used only water cooled GPUs for about 10 years now, I guess. I'll never go back to dust-busters.

I don't overclock; I just want to have a quiet and stable PC when I'm running 200FPS on my curved 3440 x 1440 screen. So my flash drive, my CPU, and my video card are all water cooled, and the computer modulates the pump and fans to keep the temp in a safe range.
